Srinagar, Oct 20: The entire leadership of APHC has expressed their great happiness over the inclusion of APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in the listof the world’s 500 Most Influential Muslims for 2014-15 by the prestigious Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre (RISSC), Jordan, all Hurriyat Conference constituents and the people of Kashmir today expressed their satisfaction over the fact that the world has practically acknowledged the struggle for right to self determination of the people of J&K led by the Mirwaiz.The Hurriyat leaders stated that Mirwaiz’s political, social and religious contributions were being recognized on international level and that is why Mirwaiz was the right choice for being awarded as the one of the most influential Muslim leader around the world. They further said that they were proud of Mirwaiz and his contributions tothe freedom struggle.Meanwhile a high level delegation of ShriGurudwara Prabandhak Committee Amritsar Punjab (SGPC) met Mirwaiz at his Nigeen residence. The participants inthe delegation included SGPC Secretary, Daljeet Singh Bedi Ji, Sardar Jageet Singh Jagi Ji and Sardar Lucky Singh Ji. While discussing the Kashmir situation and the flood aftermath with Mirwaiz, the delegates also brought relief material to be distributed among the flood victims. Media advisor to Hurriyat, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islamand others were also present during the meeting.On the occasion, Mirwaiz also paid glowing tributes to SGPC President, Sardar Avtaar Singh Ji Makkar, Secretary Daljeet Singh Bedi Ji, Sardar Parmindar Singh Ji and other members of unit for establishing relief camp at Gurdwara Shaheed Banga Sahab Barzulla Baghat and providing a helping hand to the needy during the devastating floods.
