Sshhhh Facebook, dont tell anybody I told you this but...I think I really like Dubai!!! I never thought Id hear myself say that but its true. Ive always thought Dubai would be an overly opulent, brash, man made place which held no interest for me - isnt it funny how we can allow our perceptions & old beliefs to hold us back from experiencing things that are actually incredible? I suppose its like with anything - that when you change the way you look at things the things you look at change. Yes its mostly man made here but instead of that being something negative I feel like Im on the set of a movie! One minute youre waking down a normal street & the next youre looking at the tallest building in the world! And instead of opulence & brashness Im seeing amazing imagination - the buildings here really are out of this world & the skill & imagination that has gone into making some of these beautiful futuristic places is incredible. From a boat ride to explore Deira, the old city, to afternoon tea at the Armani hotel enjoying the magical fountain displays to dinner overlooking the famous Burj & today a road trip through the desert & mountains to visit Fujairah. Dubai Im glad I gave you a chance - youve happily surprised me! Xx
