REPORTER STLPR seeks a Washington, DC-based correspondent who will explore the best ways to tell stories, gather information and provide distinctive work that provides national perspective to our region’s understanding of the choices and challenges we face. The ideal candidate for this position is adept at: putting breaking news in context; delivering reporting that holds powerful interests and public officials accountable; conducting analysis that explores the connections between federal decisions and people in the St. Louis region. NEWS PRODUCER/WEEKEND NEWSCASTER STLPR seeks a News Producer/Weekend Newscaster to prepare, write and deliver compelling local newscasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings during Weekend Edition. The ideal candidate possesses the following skills, talents and personal qualities: insatiable curiosity; a strong voice and conversational delivery; ability to produce engaging news spots and in-depth features on-air and online; understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the St. Louis region and the community’s connection to global issues; enthusiasm for finding innovative ways to increase the impact of our work. NEWS PRODUCER/MORNING NEWSCASTER STLPR seeks a News Producer/Morning Newscaster to prepare, write and deliver compelling local newscasts during weekday morning drive times. The ideal candidate for this position possesses the following skills, talents and personal qualities: insatiable curiosity; a strong voice and conversational delivery; ability to produce engaging news spots and in-depth features on-air and online; understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the St. Louis region and the community’s connection to global issues; enthusiasm for finding innovative ways to increase the impact of our work. NEWSCAST PRODUCER STLPR seeks a Newscast Producer to oversee and coordinate sound-rich local newscasts. This position is also responsible for the production of well-written, contextual news spots for both radio and the web. The ideal candidate possesses the following skills, talents, and personal qualities: an insatiable curiosity; a strong voice and conversational delivery; an ability to produce engaging news coverage, both for radio and the web; capacity to understand the challenges and opportunities that face the St. Louis region and grasp our connection to global issues; enthusiasm for finding new ways to increase the impact of our work. REPORTING FELLOWSHIP STLPR is offering a Reporting Fellowship designed to discover, encourage and develop a diverse new generation of public media talent. The person selected will have the opportunity to pursue in-depth on-air and online projects that cover cultural and race-related issues in the region. This position will build on such reporting as: “St. Louis History in Black & White”; “Bound by Division”; Race Frankly; Worlds Apart. The fellow will also be encouraged to develop story arcs that mirror St. Louis’ changing population. He or she will work alongside experienced reporters, editors, producers (including talk show producers) and operations and production personnel, and will report directly to the Arts, Culture and Voices editor. Development will include instruction in: journalism ethics; writing for the radio and web; audio production; on-air skills; research and information gathering. Expectations include: production of content: links, articles, photos, etc., for the St. Louis in Black and White project; production of articles for web and radio that reach minority communities in the area; development of segments for the St. Louis on the Air talk show and production of on-air features; engagement across social media platforms.
