St. Maarten October 31, 2013 Mr. TREVOR ALPHONSO BLAIR RECEIVED THE 2013 ROTARY VOCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD It is with great pleasure that the Rotary Club Of St. Maarten Recognizes your excellence in carrying out your vocation as Security Guard at Dawn Beach Estate say Rotary President Maria Buncamper-Molanus. You have shown your bravery and dedication to your vocation and to the people you serve since April 20th 2002. Even after experiencing challenges such as the burning down of your home in 2007 where you lost everything including your second uniform your commitment continued. The following year you were threatened during a robbery on the job where severe bodily harm was inflicted upon you, but you maintained your commitment and did not cooperate with the burglars by providing any information about the home homeowners. Returning to your home Jamaica after these unfortunate incidents you decided after three months that after all St. Maarten was the place you wanted to be and returned to your post in Dawn Beach where again by doing your job diligently in 2011 two men were arrested as a result of action taken by you to inform the police. You take an interest in the people you serve even with sorting the mail and your friendly welcome and wave good bye which has not gone unnoticed. During the month of October Rotarians all over the world observe Vocational Service focusing on aspects such as: -Adhering to and promoting the highest ethical standards in all occupations; -Recognizing the value of all useful occupations, not just those that are pursued by Rotarians; -Contributing one’s vocational talents to meeting the needs of the community Trevor Blair, your vocational excellence was brought to the attention of the Rotary Club of St. Maarten and we are honored to present you with an Award of Vocational Excellence as well as a certificate for dinner for two at Captain Olivers.
