St. Mary Parish investigators have canvassed area neighborhoods in search for leads in the Attempted Abduction investigation; information released Thursday afternoon. According to Sheriffs Office Spokesperson Traci Landry, officers were on patrol investigating vehicles throughout the parish. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***BOLO*** Attempted Abduction in Amelia The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of an attempted abduction of a 12-year-old male juvenile on Lake Palourde Road in Ameli at 2:15 PM Thursday. Based on the initial investigation, the Sheriff’s Office issued a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) for a dark-colored van, unknown model with dark tinted windows, and a passenger side sliding door. The van was possibly carrying two subjects. The passenger is described wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing including gloves and a long sleeve black shirt. This case remains under investigation at this time.
