The details are as follows: Position Title: Coordinator of Religious Education Hours: Full time Supervised by: Pastor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for the coordination and organization of the parish religious education program. Secondary responsibilities include: recruitment and training of volunteers, planning programs for children, evaluating program curricula, and ordering materials and books. Duties and Responsibilities: · Create, implement, and evaluate the goals and objectives of the Religious Education program · Review and evaluate curriculum resources and make appropriate recommendations · Recruit, prepare and train volunteer catechists for each grade level · Prepare and assist catechists in their role of teacher as a resource of experience and knowledge; · Coordinate with other members of the Pastoral Team · Manages the religious education office · Organize and conduct registration, parent meetings, and sacramental information meetings in conjunction with the religious education, parish school, and parish calendar · Coordinate and inform parents of Religious Education calendar of events for all grade levels · Prepare and implement special liturgies for the children of religious education and for the catechist team · Other duties as assigned Knowledge and Skills: · Three years’ experience in program coordination · Strong interpersonal and communication skills · Volunteer Recruitment, Training, Supervision, and Coordination · Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite Education and Experience Thorough knowledge and familiarity with the structure and practices of the Roman Catholic Church · Must be practicing Catholic · Must have experience in working in a Roman Catholic parish · Certificate in Catechetical Ministry preferred.
