Stadium Seat Install Fundraiser – August 23 and 24th!: Dear Band Families, In two weeks, on August 23rd & 24th, we will install more than 6000 seatbacks in UK’s Commonwealth Stadium. This fundraiser (install and remove) raises more than $8,000 for the Henry Clay bands. It’s a big job, but like most band performances, with everyone involved and working hard you’ll be surprised at how quickly it gets done. First for everyone who can come, we have Advance Team on Friday Aug 23rd (1-5 pm, with late arrivals welcome) to mark the seat locations, distribute mounting hardware, prep for Saturday and get a head start on installation. No special skills with tools are required, except a willingness to walk the stadium, to get a head start on Saturday and then to help your install-day group better understand the install process on Saturday. If you can, please bring a 9/16-inch socket (hand or cordless drill-mount) or wrench, and vise-grips – and please make sure to mark or label your tools. On Saturday, Aug 24, we’ll start early, at 7:00 am, and install the seats in teams, each of about 20-25 band members and parents. All HC Band Students are expected to participate on Saturday Aug 24. Students, all are welcome and encouraged to attend Friday afternoon.
