Stage 3 water restrictions revised to once every other week Effective July 1, watering day determined by address.... McKINNEY, TEXAS (June 20, 2014) – During a special meeting today, McKinney City Council voted to revise Stage 3 water restrictions. Landscape watering using sprinklers and irrigation systems is limited to once every other week, based on recommendations from the city’s water supplier, the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). These new restrictions apply to all homes, businesses, and common areas located within McKinney. In addition, irrigation systems equipped with “smart controllers” are not exempt from the watering schedule. Under new Stage 3 requirements, addresses ending in even numbers may be watered every other Tuesday starting July 1. Addresses ending in odd numbers may be watered every other Thursday starting July 3. Medians and common areas may be watered every other Wednesday, starting July 2.
