Stan Sakai is one of the nicest guys in the comics industry, as well as being an extremely talented artist and writer. If youre looking forward to the movie 47 Ronin, Stan worked on the graphic novel adaptation of the story, and Im betting it will be even better than the movie. Stans wife (also a wonderful person, as Ive had the pleasure of meeting her at San Diego Comic Con as well) has been fighting some prolonged, serious medical issues, and the medical bills are becoming overwhelming. Stan has often given of himself to help others, and were passing the word so that we can return the favor. If youve ever enjoyed Stans work in Usagi Yojimbo, (IMNSHO, one of the best comics out there), or in Groo the Wanderer, or any of his other work, considering helping out or at least helping to spread the word.
