Stand On The Rock There used to be an insurance company in the USA, whose symbol was the Rock of Gibraltar; whose significance was supposedly how strong and reliable the company was, and that it could be trusted. I (the author), am now 70 years old; and I have never seen any man made anything that was strong, or could be trusted. However, I have found through my years of being a Christian that Gods Word can be trusted at all times. God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? Numbers 23:19 (NIV). In the book of Malachi, 3rd chapter, God even allows us to test Him about tithing; and I have, indeed, done that many times; and He has never failed to fulfill His promises concerning tithing and offerings to God. ...so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me (God) empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 (NIV). That is a promise of God! The Rock that I stand on in everyday life is the Rock of the Word of God. The bible contains every instruction on how to live a healthy, prosperous, abundant, and long life; but, too few seek out the bibles wisdom. My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. Hosea 4:6 (NIV). Life is very difficult for those who want to govern their own lives and not concern themselves with the Word of God. There is a void in every human being that can only be filled by God and His Word. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. Hebrews 6:18 (NIV). The bible contains wonderful promises that people can only know about if they read the bible, or hear it from a preacher. ..if we are faithless, He (God) remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13 (NIV). God stands behind His every Word! I have been disappointed many times in my life about the guarantees of man made products and services. Men will lie to you about products and services; and their guarantee will run out when the tail lights of their vehicles are out of sight. I call them tail light warranties. Not so with Gods Words! Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. Matthew 24:35, Luke 21:13 (NIV). What a great God, we serve! He, Who is the Glory of Israel, does not lie or change His mind; for He is not a human being, that He should change His mind. 1 Samuel 15:29 (NIV). You can know the Word of God and walk in it in your everyday life. I will not violate My covenant, or alter what My lips have uttered. Psalms 89:34 (NIV). God promised eternal life to those who repent and come to Christ for forgiveness of their sins. ...in the hope of eternal life, which God, Who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time... Titus 1:2 (NIV). Come to Jesus and be saved. Take interest in the Word of God, which will change your life!
