Standing in line at Meijer tonight around 10:30, I was all by myself and there was a gentleman in his fifties in front of me in line also by himself, I watched as the cashier told him there was only .18 cents on his bridge card and he would still owe $9. He looked almost ashamed as he hung his head and walked away from his food (yes food) and said he would have to find a way to come back later. I cashed out and couldnt help but feel so bad in my heart for not stepping up as I walked to my car. When I was pulling out of the parking lot I saw this same man walking and I couldnt help but stop. I rolled my window down and handed the man $10. I told him I was standing behind him in line but that I didnt want to embarrass him by stepping in and told him to go back and buy his food. This man shook my hand and said thank you so much, the look in his face was enough to make my month. I hope in this world that more people can see how good it feels to do something for someone other than yourself. I dont have a lot of money, as a matter of fact I had to go back home just to get more because I planned on putting that ten in my gas tank. But what is $10....You cant take money with you but what you leave behind in legacy is so much more important.
