[Standing on Shoulders on Canadian Thanksgiving] Watching this, - TopicsExpress

[Standing on Shoulders on Canadian Thanksgiving] Watching this, you may want to temper your breathing, and notice when your palms start to sweat. (And maybe take some motion sickness pills or suck on some ginger, too.) In addition to the sheer roaring holy eff delight I experience at this display of excellence, I am struck by: - What the person who invented the wheel would think of this. Or the people who made the first bicycle. - Likewise, the first camera and helmet... - And the paramedics and surgeons, or heck, even Hippocrates! ;-) So many things we do each day, that arent the least bit crazy like this, stand on the shoulders of so many others. Today, I am grateful for the people who help mine the special metals that live inside the hard drive of my computer, who I fail to appreciate enough. To those who tend the olive trees that make it possible to sprinkle oil on my vegetables. To everyone who does even the smallest good thing. To friends who have stood by me through dark times. To family, who made me who I am today. To my husband and Oz-boy who still dont really grasp how much they make possible - they deserve so much credit. Because my sport may not be as out there as this, but I am as indebted, if not more. Without you, without others, I am nothing. On this day of thanksgiving, thank you from my nothing-without-you heart.
