Standing room only at todays Judiciary Committee hearing! I chaired a good part of the hearing & called for action to restore the Voting Rights Act and ensure that every eligible person can vote. Thats why Im cosponsoring the Voting Rights Amendment Act to help reverse the damage caused by a recent Supreme Court ruling. Ive also introduced legislation modeled on Minnesota law that would require all states to allow people to register to vote on Election Day. Minnesota has had same-day voter registration for years and has one of the countrys highest turnouts. All Americans must have equal access to the polls and the chance to make their voices heard.
