Stark County Weekly Traffic Advisory ***NEW*** State Route 21 in the City of Massillon (until further notice) SR 21 southbound between SR 172 (Lincoln Way) and Tremont Ave. is reduced to one lane for bike path construction. This work is the beginning of a $970,000 project to construct a portion of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail between SR 172 (Lincoln Way) and Walnut Ave. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late October 2014. US Route 30 in Paris Township (Monday, July 14 – Monday, July 28) Beginning Monday, July 14, US Route 30 between Rosehill St. and Robertsville Ave. will be closed for two weeks for a culvert replacement. The detour will be US 30 to SR 183 to SR 172. This work is part of a $470,000 project to replace various culverts in Stark County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late October 2014. US Route 62 in the City of Louisville (Monday, July 14 – until further notice) Beginning on Monday, July 14, US 62 eastbound between California Ave. and SR 44 will be reduced to one lane for a culvert replacement through late July. This work is the beginning of a $200,000 project to replace a culvert on US 62 between California Ave. and SR 44. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early August 2014. US Route 62; State Routes 173, 183 & 225 in City of Alliance; Washington & Lexington Townships (Wednesday, July 16 – Wednesday, July 30) Beginning Wednesday, July 16, the following ramps will be closed through Wednesday, July 30: · The Beeson St. entrance ramp to US 62 eastbound. The detour will be US 62 westbound to SR 172 to US 62 eastbound. · The US 62 westbound exit ramp to Beeston St. The detour will be US 62 westbound to SR 172 to US 62 eastbound. (Monday, July 21 – until further notice) Beginning Monday, July 21, Vine St. over US 62 will be closed through late September for bridge repairs. The detour will be Klinger Ave. to Edison Ave. to Aebi Ave. (until further notice) The following lane restrictions are currently in place: · SR 173 over the Norfolk Southern railroad in the City of Alliance is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repairs. These restrictions will remain in place through mid- July. · Beeson St. over US Route 62 is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repairs. · US 62 between SR 173 and SR 225 has various daily lane restrictions for bridge repairs through October 2014. This work is part of a $5.3 million project to re-deck and perform minor repairs to nine bridges on US 62, SR 173, SR 183 and SR 225. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late October 2014. State Route 687 in Plain Township (until further notice) SR 687 at Lakeside Ave. has various daily lane restrictions for the placement of a new traffic signal. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July. ***ONGOING*** US 30 and State Route 183 in Village of Minerva, Paris Township and Washington Township (until further notice) US Route 30 in the village of Minerva and SR 183 between the Columbiana County line and Beech St. has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $2.6 million project to resurface SR 183 between the Columbiana County line and Beech St and the resurfacing of US 30 in the Village of Minerva. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early September 2014. Interstate 77 in Bethlehem, Pike and Canton Townships (until further notice) to one lane, with traffic maintained by a traffic signal. (until further notice) Motorists traveling on I-77 southbound from Fohl Rd. to the Tuscarawas County line should be aware of a bi-directional traffic pattern. Although two lanes of traffic are maintained in each direction on I-77, southbound traffic is split, with one lane of southbound traffic crossed over onto I-77 northbound, while the second lane remains on I-77 southbound. However, during the hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. dally; I-77 southbound may be reduced to one lane. This work is part of a $14.3 million project to resurface I-77 from SR 800 to the Tuscarawas County line. This project also includes bridge repairs and the replacement of two bridges on I-77 over Gracemont Ave. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by October 2014. State Route 241 in Jackson Township (until further notice) SR 241 between the northern Massillon Corporation limit and the Summit County line has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $1.6 million project to resurface SR 241 between the northern Massillon Corporation limit and the Summit County line. The project also includes the addition of a left turn lane on SR 241 at Oakdale St. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late August 2014.
