Starr County Industrial Foundation in partnership with Rio South Texas Economic Development hosted a Town Hall Meeting on October 30, 2014 at STC. Starr County Judge Eloy Vera was on hand to welcome all of the guests to Starr County. This type of meeting was the first in Starr County and was geared at allowing residents to ask question about issues that pertain to economic development, commerce and the future goals for new educational programs. The meeting brought to light how neighboring counties can help Starr County to grow and attract business and industry and how a positive image can help the community to attract investors in new developments. Among the panelists for the meeting were Mr. Eddie Campriano-Port of Brownsville, Mr. Keith Patridge-President McAllen EDC, Miss Rose Benavidez-Starr County Industrial Foundation, Mr. Frank Almaraz-Workforce Solutions, and Mrs. Wanda Garza-South Texas College Vice-President who are all experts in the business and industry field.
