Start-Up Information from the original post: Seriously, please know this. I am lazy. INFINITELY lazy. I see homeless around from time to time in Dallas, in Fort Worth, and sometimes I give them change I have. Sometimes I pretend Im on my cell phone or changing the radio station if Im at a light. Then I saw that video. And I thought, THERE goes every excuse I had about not doing something more. All I did was set up a Pledgie account that tied into my paypal. Here is a link so you can see what I posted: https://pledgie/campaigns/23595 Once you set a goal and tell people you will make everything available transparently so they know they arent just funding your next ipad mini purchase, its all easy from there if you have the right friends. I posted on Facebook and got volunteers when I said I needed either someone to help me pack them up, help me shop, etc. It literally was easy and fun. I went after work one night with my friend to SAMS CLUB and used her card, went to thrift shops another night, then the packing party was just people hanging out and it was really fast and easy. Distributing them made me only a little nervous. I was afraid people would refuse to take them, feel insulted, maybe toss them. Not a single one of them, literally, was anything less than gracious. Handshakes, a Hallelujah, a thank you so much at worst. Yes, there was the benefit of feeling like a superman afterwards, but more importantly, we provided help and hope to people, because I absolutely refused and told those that helped, to include any literature from their church or push this as a Christian effort. I wanted it to just be something that said, We, as people like you are only a razor thin line away from being in the same situation, care.
