Start of the 1965 Sebring 12 Hour. Left to right is Pedro Rodriguez in a Ferrari 330 P, Willy Mairesse in a Ferrari 275 P and Charlie Rainville in a Iso Grifo A3C. Behind these three is the Ford GT40 of Phil Hill, the Shelby Cobra of Ed Lowther then the Cobra Daytona Coupe of Bob Johnson and the Ferrari 275 P of Umberto Maglioli. Already past this point are the Corvettes and the winning Chaparral of Jim Hall and Hap Sharp. A historic race because of the win by the American made Chaparral which had an unorthodox automatic transmission. Also historic was the rain deluge that struck half way through the race dumping over 5 inches of rain in 90 minutes totally flooding the track. The storm also knocked out several cars which had to pit or retire due to flooded electrics. Autosport photo.
