Starting the New Year with gratitude Editor’s Note - Emmie Joaquin Pilipino Express – January 1-15, 2015 I love January even if it happens to be the coldest month of our Manitoba winter because it always signals a new beginning for everyone. I am filled with hope and optimism that the ensuing 12 months will be kinder and gentler towards us than the past year. It’s 2015 – Happy New Year! As we open this first issue of the Pilipino Express in 2015, we would like to thank all our contributors who have made the past years editorial content remarkable and substantive. We have added new names on our roster of columnists and together with the contributors who have been with us for many years, they have helped the Pilipino Express News Magazine evolve into a source – both digital and in print – that provides vital information not only to our local readers but also for many Filipinos overseas who are interested in knowing what’s going on in our corner of the world. Your feedback, as always, is very important to us because we are able to gauge if we’re doing good journalism or not. We thank you for guiding us on the right path.
