State Govt’s callous attitude adding insult to injury for flood-affected traders, businessmen: Karra RK News Srinagar: Expressing solidarity with the flood-affected traders and businessmen of Srinagar, senior PDP leader and MP Tariq Hameed Karra has accused the NC-Congress coalition government of being reprehensively apathetic towards their plight. He said the callous attitude of the State Government has forced the hapless traders to take to the streets to press for their demands. “The flood-affected traders not only need to be compensated adequately by the Government for the massive losses they have suffered due to the devastating deluge, their demand for Income Tax and Sales Tax exemption also needs to be considered by the Central and the State Governments,” Mr Karra said while interacting with flood-affected people during his extensive tour of Rainawari and other areas surrounding Dal lake in Hazratbal constituency here. Karra said the devastating floods have added to the miseries of the traders and businessmen of Srinagar who were already under tremendous economic stress because of the more than two decades long turmoil in Kashmir.
