State of Gonzalo: Visible satellite imagery this morning shows that the eye of Gonzalo has filled and the overall cloud field in the western semicircle has begun to degrade. A fair amount of dry is located to the west of Gonzalo and is likely responsible for the lack of deep convection being generated over the western semicircle. Gonzalo is still maintaining Category 4 major hurricane strength and is located approximately 310 km to the south-southwest of Bermuda. The tropical cyclone is forecast to impact Bermuda later this afternoon/evening and bring with it life-threatening conditions. State of Ana: Water vapor satellite imagery this morning confirms that Ana has become more organized with deep convection forming near the estimated center. The moderate wind shear that has been blasting Ana is relaxing and some strengthening to a Category 1 hurricane is expected over the next 12-24 hours. The official forecast track keeps the center of Ana south of the Hawaiian Islands through the forecast period.
