State wildlife officials are looking for a man photographed this month disturbing a sea turtle nest in Sarasota County. Sea turtles, their eggs and their nests are protected under state and federal law. Anyone with information about the man was urged to call the FWC hotline at 1-888-404-3922. Tipsters may remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward. In Florida, destroying a sea turtle nest or eggs is a third-degree felony, punishable by up to a $5,000 fine and/or five years in prison.
