Statement by the family of student Mahmud Mohamed What makes the father of a young man who died during the rule of Mohamed Morsi, express sympathy and support to a young man accused of belonging to Morsis political group? He would be the father of Gaber Salah (Jica), the first martyr under the rule of ousted president Mohamed Morsi, who expressed his unconditional support to a student accused by the current regime of belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood, student Mahmud Mohamed. His recently released brother, Tarek Mohamed (Tito) had also been accused of the same charges last January. The same Tarek Mohamed had been indicted in case no. 76 during the Morsi regime where he was accused of attacking the headquarters of the Supreme guide of the MB as well as possession of explosives, while described as danger to national security. He was tried and found not guilty. The family of Mahmud and Tarek wish to make the following points: 1- We shall stand by the family of Gaber Jica until his death has been avenged. 2- We denounce all practices that led to the arrest of Mahmud, who has been in pretrial detention for 259 days, in violation of the 2014 constitution, which stipulates innocence until proven guilty. Also Mahmud has been transferred among several places of detention (Elmarg police station, Abu Zaabal prison, Appeal prison) without the family knowing a single reason for this repeated transfer. 3- The family will continue to demand the public prosecution to open the file of Mahmud and look into all the procedures and the complaints submitted by his family regarding the circumstances of his arrest and detention, including our appeal to release him from his pretrial detention which began in January in El Marg administrative case no. 715/2014. It is not difficult to understand that the family of Jica, victim to the Brotherhood regime, support a young man who is accused of joining them. The injustice has reached all. #Free_Mahmud_Mohamed
