States,. This was my response to a college colleague of mine who was more concerned with the riots, Anonymous response to Mike Browns murder, and property damage as opposed to the actual murder of the Black young man Mike Brown. Here it goes, Sooo. No one cares about the unarmed Black kid who was shot 10 times while raising his hands to show he was unarmed? I see no one mentioned that except Ms. Tennis. As a member of the black community, a black male at that, how do you think I am supposed to relate to cops when everyday I turn on the news a black man or woman is killed without justification or more importantly due process of law as guaranteed by the 14th amendment? Businesses and property are things not lives, but I guess my people are still 3/5th a person, still chattel, still unworthy of people being outraged over yet another death of a Black young man. I live in Chicago, on the south side and police here, in Fayette, IA., and all over the country use the personal information of the citizens they are charged to protect in order to investigate and/ or harass. So why is it wrong or worthy of your condemnation for the police officers information to be released? They already have ours. Before you inevitably delete me, which I am fine with, I just want to say this. Your immediate thoughts (based on what you posted) were about property and business protection first then lives. I am sorry, but lives, and not just Black lives are more important than either businesses or property. I will not agree with support or feel empathy or sympathy for those who have systematically terrorized a communtiy. Come spend time with the Black community and see that we are not the ones served and protected, we are killed. RIP Mike Brown and every other person who was murdered without due process of law; deprived of LIFE, LIBERTY, and PROPERTY.
