Stay Away From Dropbox, Facebook And Google, Edward Snowden Advises Edward Snowden, the NSA whistleblower, has spread a few words of wisdom and caution as he is quite concerned about publics privacy. His message says – stay away from Facebook, Google and Dropbox like popular web services. During a Saturday night video interview for The New Yorker Festival with The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer, he advised that people should avoid Dropbox, Facebook and Google in order to prevent privacy attacks in this age of information technology. While talking to audience Q&A, Snowden advised that people should search for encrypted communication services because they enforce your rights. He suggested people should use high-security alternative storage services like SpiderOak which encrypts files. He also advised to turn to secure services like Silent Circle and RedPhone other than sending unencrypted texts via cell phones. Thus his main message was that on an individual level, people should seek encrypted tools first and stop using services which can compromise their privacy. Snowden said, though Facebook and Google have improved their security measures a lot, they still remain dangerous services. Watch out the entire interview below: youtube/watch?v=fidq3jow8bc
