Steelers fought with vigor in the opening few possessions by the 1st Line Offense/Defense. Ben Roethlisberger and company had a solid start with Dri Archer returning TD. Promises of speed and agility lay in his hands on special teams and offense. The Giants werent trying to retain possession as penalties throughout the game forced there teams respective rookies and first team players in precarious positions. The Steelers will have another opportunity to correct the rookie mistakes by Martavis Bryant by attempting to do more than just take possession and making a 1st down. Sean Spence has some rust to knock off due to his ability to get flagged back to back plays. Howard Jones made the kind of play that could very well lock up his position on 2 string Defense. Landry Jones showed strength as he tried to get to to Martavis Bryant on one play (incomplete), and Eric Waters (TE) for which he bobbled. Rookie mistakes will be had however, Martavis will have to simply learn how to take possession and stay down. Next game Aug 16, 2014 @ Heinz Field against the Buffalo Bills.
