Stelllas Hope follows the UC DAVIS protocol for vaccinations ..Please understand that no matter what a VET Says ..which we here all the time my vet said my puppy is safe after the 2nd vaccine this is NOT always the case ..especially when you have NO history on the MAMA dog ...puppies receive immunity from the mothers milk ..BUT if the MAMA was never vaccinated there is NO immunity to pass to the pups ..so they are at HIGHER risk ...so in a nut shell if you adopt a puppy and DO NOT KNOW the history of the MOM your dog should NOT be exposed to any dog populated areas until all 4 scheduled vaccines have been given ...if you know that the MAMA of your pup has been vaccinated then your puppy is def more protected BUT ..still you never know so always air on the side of caution ..why risk their life ...?? In Bradley and Baileys case we are pretty sure Maggie their mom was never vaccinated prior to coming to us ..so they were given no immunity to parvo ..until they got the vaccines we gave them which again 2 shots is NOT enough to protect a puppy w a weak immune system from PARVO ..vetmed.ucdavis.edu/vmth/small_animal/internal_medicine/newsletters/vaccination_protocols.cfm
