Steppenwolf were always more than John Kay. Goldy McJohn is the great forgotten keyboardist IMHO and this track, unfairly maligned, highly misunderstood and commercially shunned is the evidence. I cant help thinking that if it had been written and recorded by Caravan or Man it would be well-loved by prog rockers everywhere. New guitarist Kent Henry and veteran Goldy McJohn invent powerful riffs on this one but since it wasnt Born To Be Wild no one cared.
