Steps to copy or move documents from one document library to other in the same site 1. Go to the document library where the file exists. 2. Click the “Actions” button on the toolbar and select “Open in Windows Explorer”. You will now see an explorer view of this library in a new window. 3. Click back to the SharePoint environment and select the library where you want to move the file. 4. Click the “Actions” button on the toolbar and select “Open in Windows Explorer”. You will now see an explorer view of this library in a new window. 5. You can arrange the windows so you can simply click and drag from document library to another. In this example file called “Move this file.docx” is moved from the Shared Documents library to a library called Sharees Library. 6. Close the two explorer windows and return to your Web site. 7. You can review its version history by clicking on the document context menu and selecting version history.
