Steve Albion My Tarot card for Sunday was the Five of Pentacles. Life can bring hardship and a sense of deprivation. I can remember the deprivation of a post-war Britain. I was lucky to be born into a reasonably well-off family in a country village, but school opened my eyes to the deprivation that kids can suffer. Not just being short of decent clothes or even a good wash, but being short of love, of guidance and any sense of hope. I see it as a parents duty to do the very best for their children, but if the parents are ignorant of those things and havent learned the lessons of their own situation, then the child is likely to continue the trend and the chain weaves its way endlessly through the generations. We can address some deprivation through charitable donations and we can even try through education to change attitudes and even the biased ideology of class distinction. Whether we succeed or fail, we surely owe a little compassion towards our less fortunate fellow beings. This draw is a wakeup call in regard to the hardship and deprivation that can exist almost anywhere and involve almost anyone, and asks that you dont just turn your back and dismiss it from mind and sight (those on the wrong end of things, dont have the luxury of that option).
