Steve Compton-Cook As your interested in marshalling this should give you an insight into Organisation, group riding plan, commanding the road, blocking junctions and where to position yourself, how to communicate with other road users, keeping yourself and others safe with clear instructions and good positioning, all marshals riding to the same plan, lead rider (always at the head of the group), tail ender (at the tail of the group different high viz), understanding the Highway Code, having a pre route ride to check for high risk areas, PLI in case of any issues arising from actions of those on the ride, communication with councils for any roadworks planned, communication with traffic police and depending on group size possibly a request to have police outriders.
