Steve is the son of the late Pablo & Maria Rodriguez. Born & Raised in San Benito in a Christian home with Christian values, Steve is one of nine children; Francisco Javier, Pablo Paul, Raquel Hernandez, Daniel, Alicia, Abel, *, Elias, Rodolfo Rudy. Steve & his family were migrant workers, so he is no stranger to hard work; he says that this helped to shape who he is today. Being a family man, Steve believes that one is strengthened through the bond of family. Steve has been married to his high school sweetheart, Angie for 24yrs, and they have 3 wonderful children: Hillarie Janel 23, Steven Jacob 21, & Lauren Renee 12. Steve graduated from San Benito High school in 1986 and attended two years at Texas Southmost College between 87-89. He also received a certificate of completion for the Texas Law Enforcement Course at TSC. Steve Cares about his community; from 1999-2005 he volunteered as a baseball coach and sponsored his sons team with the S.B.Y.B.L. Steve is a man of integrity, leadership, & dedication. Hes fair & non-biased. He thinks like a tax payer. He believes in putting children first. Steve is for the teachers; he wants to bring Pride back to our schools by helping teachers implement their resources in order to teach more effectively, resulting in higher test scores. Steve believes in making the right decisions that will move SBCISD towards a stronger future. Steve is an experienced business man with 25yrs in the freight/ logistics field & 15yrs running his own freight company; his most recent venture is a family run convenience store called Steves Pit Stop & Grocery that is going into its 6th month of operation. As a business man, Steve wants to work with the superintendent and fellow board members to help bring up academics & reduce needless spending of tax dollars.
