Still dont have a blog yet, but with this post, youd think I do, anyway, couple of things I want to say, Ill start off by saying that Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE is returning (in six days time), either as Tsubasa: WoRLD CHRoNiCLE, or Tsubasa: Another Story depending on which wikia you read, although might have changed again! Its sister series, xxxHOLiC has still been going even after Tsubasa ended, becoming HOLiC Rou, and then HOLiC Rei, although Rei seems to be appear as if its a reboot, but I doubt it, something must have happened between Rou and Rei, didnt read much of HOLiC after Tsubasa finished, but trying to catch up now before Tsubasa starts again! I only found out Tsubasa was returning because Ive been watching a couple of anime based Live Actions (also found out Blood-C ties into HOLiC, because its Blood-*CLAMP*, no, that means Ill have to watch it, and then Last Vampire and any other Blood adaptions :(), one of which being HOLiC, which was interesting, but I was a bit disappointed, I actually partly watched it hoping that there would be a Tsubasa cameo, which I knew would be highly doubtful, but dont know until you check! Seems like it was a bit of a cheap/unsupernatural production as possible personally, although Ive not seen it, I actually think Ouran High School Host Club probably had a higher FX budget, something which surprised me was that there was no Mokona (small FX budget), surely though they would have been able to afford coloured wigs, but apparently not! Watanuki was a bit too angry in the Live, but I doubt anyone could master Jun Fukuyamas voice, and resemble Watanuki! Some changes include the Folklore Student being man, and a less likeable character (compared to the woman in the manga and anime), theres a physical antagonist for the Hydrangea Arc, and the Bad Luck and Spider-Lady Arcs were merged together, so no Zashiki-Warashi :(! Ame-Warashi feature though, she wasnt bad, although did this verbal tic in one of the episodes, and they used that scene in the opening too :|! Speaking of opening, Suga Shikao sings, like with all/most of the openings to HOLiC, makes me think of a gender bent HOLiC, except for the fact the Spider-Lady is still a lady; Suga Shikao is on a long couch, although not lazying on it like Yuuko would, and a girl sits neviously in front of him, as if she was a customer to the shop, or Watanuki! The other recently watched Live Actions were to Cutie Honey, one the Hideaki Anno movie, which I think personally is a good movie, actually much better than that other thing hes known for (Evangelion; if you dont want to be disappointed, watch RahXephon instead, the series more so than the movie ;), although that said, Rebuild is shaping up quite nicely), and the series in 2007! The movie is top notch, as its really got an anime feel to it, including a lot of Cutie Honey elements into it, either inspiring the look of Re: Cutie Honey (which came out along side the movie), or taking inspiration from, and the low budget Super Sentai/Power Rangers (saw a bit of the newest one on Channel 5, and the clip I saw, I think the Pink Rangers line was probably different in the original, judging on body language) FX apparently didnt go down well with some reviewers according wikipedia, but personally they make me think the opposite! The series, was good too, in ways such as its actress playing Honey pulled off cute better than the movies, overall, although it didnt include many Cutie Honey elements, however turns out there was a reason, which I wont go into, spoilers, not that anyone probably cares ;)! Actually trying to get round to watching all versions of Cutie Honey; have New Cutey Honey, which was released by ADV back in the day, and surprised to find out that there was going to be 12 episodes, but got cancelled at 8 - in this instance, fanservice didnt pay, given it cost too much money for them to continue censoring it! Would have liked to know what would have happened in the final 4 episodes, other than the obvious! Currently watching Cutie Honey Flash in German, because it was never completely subbed in English, and appears my search for the German Dual-Audio version was a month too late, as the links I found, were dead; Flash was the aimed at girls Cutie Honey, although still a bit of fanservice in it, maybe to try and keep the original fans on board! The desire to watch all versions has come from watching all of Gall Force; I would say I dont know why I never bought Gall Force (Earth Chapter) on DVD, but I know the reason, its because Manga Entertainments trailer said OVA 1 - 5; OVA 1 - 3 out now, so I decided to wait, but the later episodes were never released, although turns out, were kinda seperate to the first three! Gall Force Earth Chapter was pretty good, watched both dub and sub, and the dub had a stereotypical Russian accent and what reminded me of Terrance Stamp in the first episode, but then had to ruin it with two terrible lazy sounding Scottish accents, Im sure I was going to tell someone that one of the Scottish accents made me think of Captain Large from Button Moon, but I cant remember if thats what I was going to say now, means having to re-watch that bit in dub to check :D! I think out of all of Gall Force, Earth Chapter, and Revolution (six episode alternate OVA) were probably my favourites; Sandy and Rabis bunny ear visors, brilliant! Due to Gall Force, decided to watch the original Dirty Pair series, movies and OVAs; already had watched Dirty Pair Flash, when it was released by ADV, but thought given the original series was made before Flash, and that I was used to the Flash designs, Id probably not like the original, but I enjoyed it - Yuri and Keis personalities were more polar opposites in Flash, which was better, buty the original was still good, the only thing I didnt like was Project Eden, which was either a movie or OVA, not too sure which! Trying to do the same with the CLAMP series, but theres a lot of them, although that reminded me of the rumour of a new Card Captor Sakura anime, which is basically just the original director (I believe) saying its something hed like to do, however I then stumbled across the fact that theres to be another Fate/Stay Night anime, at first I thought finally, Heavens Feel is to get an anime, but then I thought, no, the stuff that routes too dark for an anime, plus it had an original screen writer or something, so I thought original story? Turns out its going to be an animated version of Unlimited Blade Works, which already got an anime in the form of a movie, and theres going to be two series of it, although I assume it means first twelve/thirteen episodes this year, and second twelve/thirteen episodes next year, I dont know, I prefer my series complete, none of this half now, half later nonsense ;)! I have found out however that Heavens Feel is to be animated, as a movie, so Sakura finally gets some heroine screen time, and listening to the trailer, I actually though theyd changed the seiyuu, but the internet tells me they havent! Before I found out found out that the new Fate/Stay Night was to be Unlimited Blade Works, I thought it was going to be the Saber route, and thought they should stop milking, and do something else, like an animated version of Fate/Extra, but again they could run to the arms of Saber again, although a different Saber, even if she looks the same, this one wears red clothes, not blue ;), no it is also a different Heroic Soul too! Id only be happy with an animated Fate/Extra featuring Caster, animated Fate/Extra CCC featuring Caster would be even better, they even have a manga they can use for that, which even featurs characters cut from the game! Actually its odd this sudden burst of Fate/Stay Night stuff, I mean the first anime came out in 2006, then pretty much silence until the Type-Moon explosion with Carnival Phantasm (good Type-Moon mash-up, needs more love), Fate/Zero, Unlimited Blade Works and Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Illyia (as its magical girl, Im surprised Ive not yet watched it :D)! Think thats everything now, congratulations if youve read through everything, go get an I survived the Endless Eight badge from the inter-web-shop, its almost the same as if there was a I survived an Endless Tommy post badge!
