Still going through my Livermore photos... Clyde, Elsie and I rode in a small stagecoach in the Rodeo Parade Saturday morning. We were accompanied by Don and Lin Tobin. Lins maiden name is Robertson and her grandfather bought the land the Rodeo grounds is currently on and built a sanitarium for people with mental illness. Though the Sanitarium fell to ruin over the years, there are still a few buildings on the land and Don and Lin live inn one of the original houses. The land was eventually designated as a park - Robertson Park. When we got back to the rodeo grounds, Don, who is 93, needed some help getting out and a bunch of committee men and John Growney came to the rescue. I think that might have been the first time John had seen Clyde and Elsie on this trip. I was looking around to thank on committeeman in particular and asked John if the guy with his back to us was him - John says No! Thats Eddie Basso!! He turns around and, by golly, a face I hadnt seen for quite awhile!! I do see him here on Facebook though! It was great to see another face from my rodeo lifetime!!
