Still looking for a summer internship? True Blue Communications is seeking a self-motivated communications student or recent graduate for a part-time internship position. Requirements: - Applicants should be recent graduates or pursuing degrees in one or more of the following areas: public relations, marketing, journalism, and/or mass communications - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Articulate, professional, organized, excellent attention to detail - Strong writing skills and familiarity with AP Style - Ability to follow directions and work well independently The following are strongly preferred: Previous internship experience Basic graphic design skills Simple website administration skills Responsibilities: The person hired for the intern position may be asked to participate in the following activities: Media Relations – Research, monitoring, writing press releases/story pitches, outreach to journalists Online Marketing – E-newsletter writing, layout and distribution; website updates on content management systems; social media management, reporting and tracking Copywriting – News media items, websites, e-mail marketing, social media posts, blogs, presentations/speeches Event Planning and Promotion – Event development, vendor coordination, marketing and publicity for special events and business meetings Sponsorship Coordination – Organizing prospects, outreach efforts and volunteer team Light Administrative Work – Printing, scanning, meeting scheduling Hours, Pay and Duration: This is a part-time, 24-hour-per-week, paid position. If the internship continues past the first evaluation after four weeks, it will run at least until college classes resume for the Fall 2013 term, at the end of August 2013. Extending the internship through the Fall term may be discussed as a possibility when appropriate.
