Stillmanites - Id like to take the time to recognize Madame - TopicsExpress

Stillmanites - Id like to take the time to recognize Madame President Jean A Wilson-Sykes (Ms. Stillman 89- 90)...who just concluded her term of President of the National Alumni Association of Stillman College. She did a wonderful job of leading us and gave more visability to the association. Dont worry, youll still see her working. The new President is Bruce Crawford (2nd Term) and he begins January 2015. The President Elect (similar to Vice President) is our very own Gregory Skeeter Brown...who takes over 3 years from now as President (2018). Some other notable Officers that you may recognize are Carolyn Millender (Ms. Stillman 91-92) who currently serves as President of the Montgomery Alumni Chapter and will serve as the Secretary for the NAASC. Tanya Bayne-Campbell (Ms. Stillman 90-91) will serve as Asst. Secretary. Sean Toney (2nd Term) and Brian Smith were both elected to the Board of Directors. Although I no longer hold an office with the NAASC, you can depend on me to be actively engaged. I think its important for you to know this information so that we NEVER allow the turmoil that we experienced over the past years to occur again. We should work now to build a stronger alumni base where our voices are heard and where we show support to our Alma Mater, our new President Dr. Peter Millet (6th President), our Board of Trustees Chairman Dennis Driver, the Faculty/Staff and the Students...that will eventually become Alums. Besides, we are ALUMS not Graduates.... and there is a difference. Please consider your $35 dues payment....which is minimal...to become a member of the NAASC. Also, please consider joining an alumni chapter. If you do not have one nearby, you can join Stillman Memphis Chapter and well keep you abreast of all business dealing with SC. Additionally, please consider budgeting an amount to Give Back to Stillman each year...like you do your Tithes/Offering, Vacation and Classic Weekends. You will be receiving more information soon regarding a STILLMAN365 campaign that will generate support for our Alma Mater. Please share this with other Alums that are ready to support. HAIL O HAIL STILLMAN!!!
