It was reported that suspects in a white Mazda at a Filling station in Nzunga Road filled up with petrol and left without paying the full amount of money. @03:31 Sidwell. Suspects broke a window at the back of a business in Haupt Street and entered. Nothing was reported stolen at the time. @07:25 Newton Park. The front window of the flatlet at premises in Mangold Street was broken in an attempt by suspects to gain entry, but it could not be confirmed if anything had been stolen at the time. @08:08 Korsten. A woman was removed from premises in Standford Road after breaking two windows. @08:36 Mill Park. It was reported that suspects broke a window at the back of the building at business premises in Cape Road and pulled a pair of shoes from the display unit. No entry was gained into the building. @10:32 Richmond Hill. Atlas Response Officers were patrolling in Campbell Street when they saw two suspects carrying various goods. When the suspects saw the Response Officers they dropped the goods and ran away. A number of items, including a laptop and flat screen TV were recovered and handed over to the police. The police received information of the suspects’ whereabouts and arrested one of them, who admitted to breaking into premises in Dollery Road. They had climbed onto the balcony on the top floor and forced open the balcony door in order to enter. The owner opened a case with the police. @11:11 Lovemore Park. A Cedar Street homeowner pressed the panic button when she saw suspects breaking into her neighbours’ house. Suspects driving a brown VW vehicle kicked in the wooden door to the flatlet and gained entry into the main house. They stole a plasma TV from the house. @12:37 North End. Response Officers found a man, who had stolen cheese from a business in Prince Alfred Road, at the back of the shop and took him back inside to pay for the items. The owner did not want to open a case. @14:50 Kwanobuhle. Two suspects tried to steal stock items from the yard of a Matanzima Road business, but were chased away by the owner. @15:51 Kragga Kamma. Atlas Response Officers received information of a break-in that took place in the vicinity of Kragga Kamma Road. Two suspects were spotted in the field behind the supermarket in the area and Atlas Response Officers chased after them. A plasma TV and Xbox were found in the field, but the police could not link the stolen items to any of the break-ins that took place in the area. @19:51 Lovemore Heights. It was reported that power cables were stolen from a residential premises in Myrdal Crescent. 20 May 2014 Tuesday @06:13 Humewood. Copper piping was stolen from a house in Marshall Road. @09:42 Summerstrand. Suspects cut the padlock off the front gate and kicked in the front door of a Bradley Road home and entered. A plasma TV was stolen. @13:58 Mount Croix. A suspect dressed in khaki pants, smashed the back window of a vehicle at premises in Eastbourne Road and stole a laptop and carpet from the back seat. @14:41 Kabega Park. It was reported that a break-in took place at an educational institution in Brabant Street over the weekend. The suspects opened all the windows on the one side of the building and managed to pull a kettle and toaster to the outside. @21:29 Walmer Heights. A Sibelius Street home was burgled by suspects who forced open a window at the back of the house. Nothing could be reported stolen at the time. 19 May 2014 Monday @03:27 Providentia. Suspects attempted to break into a Marcia Way home by removing the front window, but whilst busy forcing the window open was disturbed by the owner. They ran away and nothing was stolen. @03:44 Sidwell. The garage door of a Barry Street home was forced open, but it could not be determined if anything was stolen. @06:05 Newton Park. Suspects smashed the glass part of a door at the back of business premises in Worraker Street. It seems as if an unknown amount of money might have been taken from the till. @07:02 Mount Pleasant. All four wheels were stolen off a vehicle parked in Clarendon Street. @09:57 Newton Park. The front door of a Mowbray Street home was forced open and jewellery and two plasma TV’s stolen, one of which was still in its packaging. @10:47 Gelvandale. It was reported that suspects broke into the building at sporting fields in Stanford Road over the weekend. They bent the burglar bars and broke a window in order to gain entry, but nothing was reported stolen. @10:51 Korsten. It was reported that a member of the public was throwing bricks at the windows of a business in Stanford Road. The police attended to the incident. @11:59 Walmer. Suspects forced open the wendy house at premises in Seventh Avenue and stole a weed eater. @12:54 Adcockvale Extension. Suspects stole old copper piping from premises in Sargent Crescent. @20:32 Walmer. A medical incident was reported taking place at a residence in River Road. The Paramedics attended to the incident. @22:37 North End. Suspects forced open a window at the back of the building at business premises in Du Toit Street and used a stick to pull goods closer to the window in an attempt to steal it, but were not successful. 18 May 2014 Sunday @04:10 Humewood. The front CCTV camera was stolen from business premises in Humewood Road. @05:49 Newton Park. A window and burglar bars at the back of business premises in Fifth Avenue was kicked in and garden tools stolen. @05:57 Walmer. Suspects climbed over the perimeter wall of a Main Road business premises and pulled a laptop through a window that had been left open. @06:13 Walmer. Suspects cut a small hole in the door of the storeroom at premises in Victoria Drive and cut the padlock. A car battery was reported stolen. @08:18 Greenbushes. Suspects tried to pull a laptop through an open window at an educational institution in Old Cape Road, but did not succeed and nothing was stolen. @09:13 Kamma Heights. Suspects tried to steal washing from the line at a residence in Soutpansberg Street, but ran away when they were spotted by the domestic worker on site. @11:31 Westering. It was reported that suspects entered a chapel in Cape Road pretending to be waiting for a ceremony to begin and stole a handbag. @12:04 Mill Park. An elderly man had suffered a stroke at premises in Mill Park Road and the Paramedics attended to the incident. @13:44 Korsten. Two suspects were found trying to steal copper piping from a filling station in Kempston Road. They ran away when they were spotted by the owner. @20:52 Redhouse. Suspects removed the glass from the back door of an educational institution in De Kock Street and opened the door from the inside. They cut the security gate in order to enter, but nothing could be confirmed stolen at the time of the incident. @21:48 Parsons Hill. Suspects climbed onto a container and then onto the roof of an educational institution in Kestell Street and managed to open a window on the second floor of the building. They entered into the computer room, but before they could unplug the computers they were found by Atlas Response Officers. Two of the suspects got away and one was arrested by the Police. @23:22 Newton Park. A tyre was stolen off a vehicle at a residence in Bruce Street. 17 May 2014 Saturday @04:13 Charlo. Suspects removed a window at a house in Miles Road and stole a plasma TV. @07:27 Greenshields Park. A resident in Wesley Gardens lost consciousness and the paramedics attended to the incident. @11:14 Sidwell. It was reported that an armed robbery took place at a business in Commercial Road. Five suspects, one armed with a firearm, entered and took an undisclosed amount of money. They fled in a blue VW City Golf. @11:20 Lovemore Heights. Suspects removed a window at the garage of a house in Melsetter Road and entered. An i-Pad, two laptops and camera equipment were stolen. @12:21 Cotswold. Suspects removed the aluminium frame of a window at a business in Cape Road and entered. Three computers were stolen. @21:17 North End. The front door of a Adler Street home was kicked in, but it could not be determined if anything was stolen at the time. @21:40 Sherwood. A Devon Road resident fell and hurt her leg. The Paramedics attended to the incident. 16 May 2014 Friday @00:20 Malabar. A resident in Euphorbia Street was struggling to breathe and an ambulance was dispatched to attend to the incident. @02:20 Linton Grange. The garage door of a Begonia Drive home was forced open, but no loss reported. @07:01 Sydenham. Suspects forced open the security gate and front door of an Ambrose Street business and oil were reported stolen. @07:11 Westering. A Gedye Street resident caught a suspect while trying to break into his vehicle. The suspect managed to get away and left a bag containing tools behind. @07:33 Lorraine. It was reported that suspects covered the CCTV camera before entering the office at a business in Saar Avenue. A computer was stolen. @07:46 New Brighton. A student lifted the trap door of an educational institution in Avenue A and tried to steal copper cabling from the ceiling, but was apprehended by the caretaker. He bit the caretaker and ran away. @12:13 Theescombe. It was reported that suspects cut the bottom part of the fence of premises in Old Seaview Road and entered. Nothing was reported stolen. @17:29 Summerstrand. A suspect who tried to open the perimeter gate at premises in Eighth Avenue was confronted by the owner and ran away. @21:33 Mill Park. It was reported that a blue VW City Golf was stolen from premises in Cape Road. @23:23 Mangold Park. Suspects climbed through an open window at a residence in Madelaine Street and stole a laptop. 15 May 2014 Thursday @01:31 Motherwell. Customers at business premises in Umnulu Street got into an argument and started fighting. The Police attended to the incident. @02:59 Mangold Park. It was reported that a drunk driver drove into the perimeter wall of an Alan Drive home and drove away. He stopped further down the road and ran away. @03:40 Walmer. Suspects attempted to break into a Fordyce Road business. The front electric fence had been damaged and the window had force marks on it, but no entry was gained and nothing reported stolen. @09:47 Central. The outside lock of the main roller door at a business in Govan Mbeki avenue had been cut, but no entry was gained into the building. @10:57 Lorraine. Suspects forced open two windows of a home in Circular Drive and entered. A laptop, cell phone and jewellery were stolen. @13:38 Rowallan Park. Atlas Response Officers received information of a break in that took place at a Juan Pierre Street home. When the Response Officers arrived on site, they found that the owner had been stabbed and the suspect ran away. The Response Officers chased the suspect down and he was arrested by the police. @18:40 Algoa Park. A Dennehout Street resident complained about chest pains and was transported to hospital by ambulance. @20:01 Uitenhage. Atlas Response Officers arrived at business premises in Durban Street to find the building filled with smoke. The Fire department broke the front door open and entered. The fire was caused by a pot that had been left on the stove. @21:06 Neave Township. An extension cord was stolen from business premises in Lindsay Road.
