Stop Animal Cruelty in Hot Spring/Garland Counties, founded in 2008, is a not-for–profit, volunteer-run organization that has been helping the animals and citizens of both counties for five years. In these past five years, we have saved more than 350 animals from the Malvern Shelter, and at least 193 animals from other sources, i.e. puppy mills, neglect cases, owner surrenders in lieu of prosecution, etc. We also hold periodic spay/neuter clinics to help keep the population of unwanted animals down. In honor of our 5 year anniversary, we are planning a celebration at the Whitewater River Park in Malvern on August 24. The money we raise at the anniversary celebration will be used, in part, to fund a microchipping program, and to help with the vet bills and expenses of the animals we help save. We will be having a Rubber Ducky Race in the Ouachita River. It will be $5 to sponsor a duck and the winning duck will win a grand prize and the next 20 ducks will also win something. Please watch for a table with ducks, so you can sponsor yours!
