Stop Playing Hide and Seek on Constitution – EFZ The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia has advised government to stop playing hide and seek on the constitution and simply state where the draft constitution is. EFZ chairperson Reverend Pukuta Mwanza said there was no need for government to be dodgy on the subject as they knew where the draft constitution was. Mwanza said rather than play ignorant on the matter the government should respect the Zambian people by giving them the constitution as they promised them during campaigns. “Government should explain to the people what is happening to the draft constitution because it is no use for them to play hide and seek,” he said. “There was a commitment before elections and there was a commitment after elections that they will give the Zambian people a constitution in 90 days. The Technical Committee was formed it is a strange development now that the government is playing hide and seek and this is not reflecting well on government.” He said: “If they are adamant that they do not have the document, they should say where it is. Where is it?” The government went into panic mode after the draft constitution that they had worked os hard to hide from the public was leaked to the public by the Zambian Watchdog. Initially President Michael Sata blabbered about not knowing anything about any other constitution other than the current one but later in the day his press aide George Chellah put through a half hearted statement that attempted to shift the blame to the Technical Committee by saying they never handed over the draft constitution. However, the Technical Committee battling for their honour challenged Chellah to tell the nation the truth about the draft constitution. zambiareports/2014/01/17/stop-playing-hide-and-seek-on-constitution-efz/
