Stop everything. For the elders who were looking out for me 18 years ago... the ones who had all the advice in the world when I was having my first child... We have to talk. We have some serious beef. This is unacceptable. You warned me about sleepless night, crying babies, diapers... not hanging out with friends, etc. You NEVER warned me about this. You NEVER told me that I would be a basket case in tears for a week and counting because shes become everything I knew she could be and is off to college... and on to the rest of her life with a promising future ahead. The definition of bittersweet. I should have known you were holding back... Ill be ok though. As long as I keep listening to all the sad songs like I just lost my puppy... and reminiscing about the days when they were small and used to stand in the living room on the coffee table while we blasted this song and danced to it like we were all on stage... And to all my friends and family with little ones... cherish every single moment... and dont blink... these truly are the best moments of your life.
