Stop posting threads with one-line conclusions or questions that invite deepities and shallow discussion. People who do this will be banned. Right now, threads are being deleted. If you want to ask a question, show why its motivated. Cite some analytic philosopher or specific paper, or if its original, contrast it with a known view. Show that you care about the question enough to have done some basic research. Or at least use proper terminology so we know you know enough about what youre talking about to make informed discussion possible. This is, in some sense, a tightening of the rules, but weve had an influx of crap threads and Hallmark Card philosophy appear lately. There are plenty of groups that are less rigorous and permit such things, but crap pseudophilosophy and off-topic posts are not welcome here. Read the rules, read the linked article on analytic philosophy, and stay on topic. There is an enormous diversity of opinion here and plenty of debates to be had, but we cant have them if they keep getting derailed by off-topic nonsense. Frankly, if you dont like it, this is not the group for you, and you should leave.
