Stopped at the farmers market this last Saturday and saw many many more watermelons than Ive seen all summer. Noticed one variety I hadnt seen before, at one of the first couple of booths on the south end. These were small, about 8 inches in diameter. for $1.50 each called Yellow Dolls. To be perfectly honest the best watermelon Ive had all summer from every source Ive tried. Yellow Flesh, has seeds but sweet and juicy and flavorful. Tried some of the Asian Eggplants, same purplish color but long and thin. Good flavor and enjoyed that as well, plus bought some more Murai corn as well, been going through 6 ears a week. Going to have to check into the proper way to freeze and get some to hold me over the winter.
