Story 31 Good day or a Bad day? _______________________________________________________ Raman, belongs to a Kingdom called Waccanair. He earns his living by milking his cows; his way to survival. One fine day to his surprise his cow goes missing and all the villagers gathered… pitting him… one of ‘em expressed saying, “Oh! Looks like it’s a bad day for you” to which Raman replied he doesnt know yet. This was noticed by the King, to which he declared he’d feed Raman until he finds a way out to earn his living… obviously to which the villagers felt he is lucky… Raman again replied saying, he doesnt yet. Same day the King invites the entire village to his daughter’s marriage ceremony, however the invitation was not meant for the beggars and since Raman’s out of business and is surviving on the King’s kindness he was considered to be among the beggars... to which the villager’s feel express disgrace for Raman and treats him like a untouchable... He remains calm and doesnt conclude the situation yet… An hour later, he sees his cow returning with few other cows… he goes bonkers, can’t imagine how rich that makes him feel and now obviously he can visit the ceremony and will gain back all his respect which he probably had lost an hour ago. The villager’s consider he’s lucky and his day seems to be the best day of his life. Next day while milking one of the new cows, he was hit by the cow and ended being bed ridden… The villager’s call that a bad luck for him… and as usual Raman states he doesnt know yet. A day later the King summons all his people and asked to gather for a meet… The king declares a state of war and asked all the villagers to help him & his army to win the war; except the women, injured and children. Raman’s neighbour walks down to him and tells him, “You got to be lucky for not having to join the war.” Raman states he isnt sure of that though, and refuses to conclude his day or his luck for that matter… _______________________________________________________ Moral:- Is it a good day or bad day...we dont really know....things for which we celebrate not necessarily turn out to be good....and things for which we regret arent at times bad… Accept the way life treats you… you’d definitely be rewarded in return.
