Story behind the photo – 159 - Extra care, Swami checking up. Swami was in Chennai, and during this Divine visit, Bhagavan Baba gave me a special assignment. Within a week, after Swami’s departure from Chennai, there was big International cardiac surgeons’ conference scheduled in Prashanthi Nilayam. Several top surgeons were expected to participate. Swami wished to give every delegate an executive bag, with Note pad, Pens, and other stationeries loaded inside. A model bag was selected and price arrived at after heavy bargaining. Within 4 days these bags had to be manufactured with the Official Hospital logo printed and transported to Parthi well in time before commencement of registration of delegates. We reached Parthi travelling by a mini truck, all the way through out night, and early morning, the bags were neatly stored in one of the rooms in Poornachandra Hall, adjacent to Swami’s personal room. We returned back to the room, after taking bath, and were waiting for Swami. After morning darshan, Swami walked in. Swami took out some bags at random, and started checking them, for the condition of the bags as well as the contents. Swami suddenly pulled out a Ball pen from a bag. He asked for a sheet of paper and started scribbling across the paper. Then he took another bag, and another pen, and more scribbling. Meticulously Swami tested so many pens. We were watching with wonder. When finished, Swami looked satisfied, and had a smile on His face. We also felt happy. Before departing, Swami explained, “You had bought these items in hurry. The bag manufacturer would have purchased the pens from a dealer. It was an opportunity for them to dump the old products in this deal. If these pens are found dried up of its ink, the delegates cannot use them. I wanted to make sure, everything is fine.” With Love & Regards, Mumbai Srinivasan.
