Story time! I got a call from The Hawks National Anthem - TopicsExpress

Story time! I got a call from The Hawks National Anthem coordinator, at about 5 to make sure that I was going to sing tonight. I let her know that I was going to be there at the time she requested, 6:50, in order to make sure I am there with enough time to spare. So, I finish working and at 6:20 I took the picture that is now my profile pic, and went out to my car to take the kids and I to the Stadium. When I got around the corner, near my parking garage, I saw that the next garage over had a trailer out and directly in front of my garage. There was no vehicle attached to it and it was on a jack with a full load in the trailer. I LOST MY MIND!!!! I then tried to stay cool, enough to ask if the trailer could be moved out from in front of my garage and the guy said that his girlfriend had just left, with the vehicle that could move it. I then started turning several shades of red and several expletives left my mouth. Many of which were not kind. I proceeded to yell that I was desperately in need of my vehicle and that I felt it was stupid that someone would block car garages. See, the rule our complex has, is that no one is allowed to use those garages for storage. They are strictly for cars, due to the limited parking spaces that are for general use. He suggested that I get a cab and I suggested he pay for it. That was not happening either. I then called Shane Johnson and didnt get an immediate answer but he called back just as I hung up with the Taxi service. Once Shane was on the way I canceled my taxi, I walked over to the mans garage and I apologized for blowing up at him and shook his hand. Shane rushed us to the stadium and I got there right at 7:00...10 minutes late. I was still able to sing but I was so stressed that I forgot to hand my kids my phone to record it. The singing went well and the game was fun, (We lost) but the moral of the story is: I feel very comfortable in my own skin and I have worked on my temper for a long time, feeling like I had it in check. Obviously, I realized that I, like most of us, am prone to bouts of rage. I hope to be better about it in the future. I am sharing to show that I am human, no matter how much I try to preach peace.
