Story time. Shopped all day. Got home. No pop in house. Cannot have a house with no Coke. Went to Giant Eagle 7 pm. While I was leaving I noticed a lady walking around outside going from person to person. Here she comes. She was the Salvation Army bell ringer. The bus she takes home to Akron did not come tonight due to holiday schedule. She had no one to call. No cash. I told her I her I was in a hurry and brushed her off. Got in my car and watched her. She was crying and cold. Damn! I go into Giant Eagle and went to the service desk. They confirmed she was the bell ringer. Of course one of them said......are u considering taking this black woman home???? I asked her what difference did her color make???? I went back outside and found her. Yes I took her to Akron on West Market and she cried the entire way thanking me. Was I nervous? Did I call home and tell Alan just in case? Yes. But....I had been shopping and spending money all day. Had a warm car. This woman needed help. I am thankful I was able to help her.
