Strange 7-Eleven and 07/11 Birthday Facts: I had the most - TopicsExpress

Strange 7-Eleven and 07/11 Birthday Facts: I had the most amazing birthday on July 11th (07/11). Friends took me out for three days. My daughters posted an amazing message on my wall and hand baked a pie and a cake. Then they went all out and took me to 7- Eleven for that free slurpee! 7-Eleven officially holds their birthday on 07/11. When the attendant found out it was also my real birthday, he asked to look at my ID. He said I could have a free hot dog because it was my birthday! Then he noticed the year (1958) and he informed me that the year I was born was also the official year that the first 7-Eleven opened in this Texas. It was in Oak Cliff on the corner of Edgefield and 12th street. I also grew up near that location. He said that there is a historical marker there now for the first 7-Eleven. It gets better. When I first started making a name for myself in the Information Technology business, I was given two accounts to manage. The 7 Eleven account and a hospital (Northwest Memorial) in Illinois , the state where I was born. As the account manager for 7-Eleven, I was always invited to the big birthday party they held at City Place in the grand ballroom. They served the most amazing and exotic foods on the banquet table. However, the centerpiece that rose three feet off of the center table was always their famous hotdog! It was so funny to have all the expensive foods and Hot Dogs as the centerpiece! I always celebrated my birthday with them. Then one day I was talking to my counterpart in Illinois for the Northwest Memorial Hospital account (Jim Schultz). I was explaining that I was born in Geneva, Illinois and he stated that that is where Northwest Memorial was. Then I stated that I was born in a hospital named “Kane County Hospital”. The same Hospital where they filmed the movie, “The Fugitive”. I almost fell out of my chair when he told that it was the same hospital who’s account I was managing. It was formerly “Kane County Hospital”, it had changed names to Northwest Memorial ten years earlier. It is a very small world and life circles around to itself. Be careful how you treat people and live because it all circles around…. As for my Birthday, it was a great 4 day event and I am so tired and looking forward to Monday!
