Strange how on Columbus Day so many say how horrible it is to recognize Columbus due to the end result for the( Indigenous People ) American Indians, who were already here. It is an undisputable fact they were on the receiving end of the raw deal of all time. It is just odd how one of the key facts always mentioned is how we brought disease to them that was not here or almost non existent. It seems we could learn from history and use this lesson to recognize the threat from having our boarders so open with no real clue who is coming across or what ailments the may have. I see this as a common sense issue and not race connected at all. This is purely based on the issue of medicine only ,not at all considering who they may actually be or any criminal history or possible intent on their part. As far as the threat from Ebola how little we actually know about this and possible transmission is horrifying. It would seem travel bans and restrictions would be a common sense approach with the exception of medical aid workers. This would surely slow the transmission of this and help prevent further outbreaks . The responses should be interesting any thoughts ?
