Strange that hes couching this in conditional terms. From my perspective we havent controlled campaign financing nor given our alleged strictures against any appearance of impropriety any teeth. Therefore we already have governments which are fixated on the priorities of politically active factions from the super-right (0.1% income/wealth). This has been going on for decades (since the 80s at least and perhaps even back into the 70s) and has accelerated markedly in the last two decades and even more in the most recent several years. If we dont bring the issue under control then well almost certainly find that oligarchic plutocracy is extremely unstable on the scale of the U.S. populace in a society thats dependent on our modern levels of technology in order to feed and provide reasonably medical care. The regressives who fantasize about a return to pastoral values and society are completely delusional about the degree to which that is simply impossible at our scale of population.
