Strangest APTSTAR request of the day: I am looking for a one bedroom apartment on the Upper East Side with an air conditioner, washer and dryer in unit, hardwood floors, gutted kitchen with granite and nice cabinets and stainless steep appliances, on a high floor, ABSOLUTLEY no bldg, with window ac hanging out. Budget? “Not to exceed $2,400.00” From a person relocating to NYC from Chicago. My reply: “You’d be lucky to find a real one bedroom apartment on the Upper East Side with a real kitchen and real sized appliances in your price range. And the highest floor this will get you may be the 5th floor in a walk up building. As far as the acs hanging out, there will be many.
