Street Department Director Dolph Bradford said drainage repair - TopicsExpress

Street Department Director Dolph Bradford said drainage repair construction on Lindsay Lane is expected to begin Friday, Jan. 17. City forces will start delivering pipe and materials on Friday. Road closures are expected to begin Tuesday, Jan. 21, and to continue periodically for several weeks. We will try to close and reopen the street daily as much as possible and cooperate with school traffic, Bradford said. However, there are two to three large culverts that will take a day or more to complete, and we wont be able to reopen. School traffic and residents will have to access from either side depending on location of the work. When we close the road, it will be completely closed to through traffic, and we will assign detours if possible. We will install as much signage as possible as well. Bradford said workers must replace six culverts south of Strain Road and three culverts north of the round-a-bout. There will be other areas of work for road widening to accommodate a guard rail. Paving will take place closer to the summer after the entire length of the road is widened one foot on each side. We ask motorists to think of the safety of our crews and for patience during this road construction, Bradford said. The road will be under construction for a good portion of this year. Alternate routes should be considered.
